To install SOAP, it is not required to compile PHP from source. Advice is to do a compilation only as a last option.<\/p>\n
To check if your phpinfo indicates anything about the SOAP extensions:<\/p>\n
$ php -i | grep -i soap<\/pre>\nTo make sure the PHP extension is missing.<\/p>\n
Assuming you don't see any information about SOAP with phpinfo, you can check what PHP SOAP packages are available.<\/p>\n
In Ubuntu\/Debian, you can search with:<\/p>\n
$ apt-cache search php | grep -i soap<\/pre>\nor in RHEL\/Fedora you can search with:<\/p>\n
$ yum search php | grep -i soap<\/pre>\nThere are usually two PHP SOAP packages available, usually php-soap<\/strong> and php-nusoap<\/strong>. php-soap is what you get by configuring PHP with--enable-soap.<\/p>\n
In Ubuntu\/Debian, you can install it with:<\/p>\n
$ sudo apt-get install php-soap<\/pre>\nIn RHEL\/Fedora, you can install it with:<\/p>\n
$ sudo yum install php-soap<\/pre>\nAfter installation check the php ini file and restart Apache.<\/p>\n
Now if you run this command :<\/p>\n
$ php -i | grep -i soap<\/pre>\nCould you get something like this on screen in the terminal :<\/p>\n
